Major Highlights of Tsum Valley Trek of Manaslu Region
Autumn (September to November) and Spring (March to May) are considered as the best seasons for doing this trek. Regarding monsoon season in summer, we do not suggest trying this route from June till August.
Walking in this high land of Tsum Valley region usually requires walking maximum 6-8 hours a day. It is advised that you prepare yourself by jogging or walking around max 14 km every day for around 3 months before your actual trip so that we will be able to walk in physically demanding high-altitude conditions and remote areas for many days for hours at a time. In order to make the trip successful, having strong willpower, the ability to tolerate harsh weather conditions along with reasonable fitness is crucial. Past hiking experience would be an asset and so is a minimum technical skill. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, blood diseases, and allergies should inform Pinnacle Expedition before booking the trek. We also recommend that you consult your doctor(s) before the trip.
One of the most sacred valleys when it comes to Tibetan culture and the natural landscape, Tsum Valley offers the seclusion needed to understand the calmness it offers to its people. One of the remotest Himalayan Valleys, this beautiful region was opened only recently to trekkers. Trekking to this wonderful land will give you a majestic view of Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal and other ranges, and will give you a short peek into the ancient Tibetan lifestyle and ambience since its people, also known as Tsumbas belong to Tibetan origin with their own ancient form of dialect, art, culture and religion. Very few adventure travelers have made it to this high and mysterious valley, which used to be an important trade link with Tibet. Now, we walk across the less beaten and still virgin path in many trails while experiencing the rugged trails and untouched culture.
