Mustang region for a long time has been advertised as the Last Forbidden Kingdom. Once belonging to the Tibetan region, the district, with its neighbor Manang, is popularly known as the land beyond the Himalayas in Nepal. The Manang Circuit trek is an enthralling trek to those who want to experience the remaining of the Tibetan lifestyle and isolated settlements of upper remote regions of Nepal. Though it is still a restricted area to foreigners, the Upper Mustang needs a special permit to be entered. This trek takes us to the serene Thakali and Bhotia villages, the majestic treeless/deserted landscapes, and the ancient Cave Monastery.
Accommodation will take place in a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu and teahouses while on the trail. All of the rooms are on a twin-sharing basis while a single supplement will be served on request and charged additionally. Similarly, the rooms will include attached bathrooms, however, please take into consideration that some teahouses will only have shared washing and toilet facilities and that single rooms aren’t readily available as we trek higher.
During our trek, we can enjoy the staple Nepali diet of daal-bhat-tarkari as well the common international cuisine like Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc. Breakfast and dinner will be served from the teahouse or lodge menu we’d spend the night at whereas lunch will be served on the way to the next destination. All meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu and Pokhara. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners for guests.
