Major Highlights of Langtang Valley Trek
Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best season for this trek. Although we can do the trekking during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.
Langtang Valley Trek is a moderate trek suitable for walkers who can walk up to 6-7 hours a day with a light rucksack. In some days however, we might have to walk up to 8 hours. Walking in higher altitudes has more physical demands compared to the lower ones but it is not worrisome as long as we are averagely fit, have positive attitude and strong determination. It is highly beneficial if we exercise and jog regularly to enhance our strength, stamina and stability. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, blood diseases, and allergies should inform Pinnacle Expedition before booking the trek. We also recommend that you consult your doctor(s) before the trip.
One of the most pleasant treks in the country, Langtang Valley Trek starts with walking along with the Tamang villages in the lower region of Langtang Valley. We also walk through the farmlands and forests of Langtang National Park to Kyangjin Gompa and climb Tserko Ri for the excellent sunset views over the beautiful Langtang mountain range. Once an important trekking route with Tibet, we can see still see the traces of rich local culture while being witness to the recovery of the devastating earthquake that hit Nepal in April 2015.
