Major Highlights of Langtang-Gosaikunda and helambu Trek:
Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best seasons for this trek. Although we can do the trekking during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.
Langtang, Gosaikunda and Helambu Trek is a moderate trek suitable for walkers who can walk up to 6-7 hours a day with a light rucksack. In some days however, we might have to walk up to 8 hours. Walking in higher altitudes has more physical demands compared to the lower ones but it is not worrisome as long as we are averagely fit, have positive attitude and strong determination. It is highly beneficial if we exercise and jog regularly to enhance our strength, stamina and stability. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, blood diseases, and allergies should inform Pinnacle Expedition before booking the trek. We also recommend that you consult your doctor(s) before the trip.
A beautiful journey making a perfect circuit, the Langtang-Gosaikunda-Helambu Trek takes you through the lush forests, serene villages, abundant wildlife and astonishing views of the Himalayas. This 17-day trek starts with walking around Tamang villages located on the banks of the Trishuli River and as we aim towards Kyanjin Gompa and then climb Tserko Ri the next day. From there we get the magnificent views of the Langtang Lirung at the height of 7,200m. Then, we continue trekking further in the beautiful Langtang Valley and reach Gosaikunda Lake, a sacred place for both Buddhists and Hindus. The beautiful view of this tranquil lake and its sister lakes will definitely help us relax. After crossing the Laurebina Pass, our trek to the Helambu Valley begins. Another highlight of our hike is to reach the top of Ama Yangri at 3,800m. The view of the Himalayas from the top of the hill is believed to rival that of Poon Hill. We continue trekking in the Helambu region for a few more days and end our remarkable journey to the mountains with a drive to Kathmandu.
