Major Highlights of Everest Base Camp Trek
Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best months for this trip. In winters, due to cold, EBC trek might not be suitable for everyone.
Areas covered by Everest Base Camp Short Trek, to be honest, is the playground for the Sherpas, probably the best mountaineering community in the world. Passing through their homes in Lukla and beyond, through the Sagarmatha National Park, the legends of Yeti, the spectacular viewpoint of Kala Patthar and of course the Everest Base Camp itself, the trek is a perfect blend of culture and adventure.
Despite just the short duration of 14-day, this trek provides ample of opportunities to follow the Sherpa lifestyle and their faith in Buddhism as we pass through various villages and the highest monastery in the Khumbu region – Tengboche Monastery. It also provides the one and only chance of being up close with various snow-covered peaks like Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu and obviously, the roof of the world, Mt. Everest itself.
The journey would begin in a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla equipped with the essentials – the permits and the gears. Those who are in good health, have a bit of stamina, and a little experience with high altitude hike can sign up for this trip.
