Major Highlights of Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge Trek
Autumn (September to November) and Spring (March to May) are the best seasons for this trek. The weather is sunny and warm with clear views but the nights are cold and can fall to freezing temperatures in higher elevations. Winter (December to February) is also good for Everest Base Camp Trek, the only issue is cold (obviously). Trekking in summer or monsoon (June and July) will be affected by rain but the Summer trek could be a boon for a keen botanist. The trekking routes are crowded during spring and autumn. But during monsoon and winter, the routes are not packed and visitors can enjoy the best that nature has to offer.
If you are looking to follow the footstep of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay when they set off on their epic journey of 1953, then the Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge Trek is what you need. Considered as one of the grandest treks in the world, the journey includes acclimatization and cultural experience of the Sherpa lifestyle in the Khumbu Valley. The main attraction though? Enjoying the up-close view of four of the world’s six tallest peaks – Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Cho Yu and Mt. Everest while also emerging into the finest experience of the luxury lodges.
The trek starts with a sightseeing tour of the historical and cultural monuments of Kathmandu and then heading out in an interesting mountain flight to Hillary Airport of Lukla. Then comes walking through Sagarmatha National Park which hosts a variety of Himalayan flora and fauna including the magnificent snow leopard, and passing through the highest Buddhist Monasteries in the world while enjoying a Panoramic view of the mountains from Kala Patthar.
