Best Season for Manaslu Circuit Trek

Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best months for this trip.

Manaslu trek is a moderate trek with 5-6 hours of walking every day with a light rucksack. In some days however, we might have to walk up to 8-10 hours. It is advised that you prepare yourself by jogging or walking around 12 km every day for around 3 months before your actual trip so that we will be able to walk in physically demanding high-altitude conditions and remote areas for many days for hours at a time. In order to make the trip successful, having a strong willpower, the ability to tolerate harsh weather conditions along with reasonable fitness is crucial. Medical and evacuation expenses are the responsibility of the participant. It is also important that we consult our doctor for vaccination and other medical requirements for our trip.

Try New Things

  • Accommodation will take place in a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu and teahouses while on the trail. All of the rooms are on a twin-sharing basis while a single supplement will be served on request and charged additionally and most probably only be available in Kathmandu. Note that Manaslu region is a newly developed trekking destination therefore the facilities in the teahouses will be very basic.

  • During our trek, we can enjoy the staple Nepali diet of daal-bhat-tarkari and local ethnic food. Breakfast and dinner will be served from the teahouse or lodge menu we’d spend the night at whereas lunch will be served on the way to the next destination. All meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners for guests. Please know that the Manaslu region does not have a well-established tourist infrastructure as in the Annapurna or Everest region (and this is the main attraction of this region). Therefore, a variety of foods will not be available or possible. We mainly eat Tibetan bread, dal bhat, tsampa porridge and other simple local foods. Pinnacle Expedition suggests we be ready for a remote experience.
